The Challenge. Capturing Warmth and Community
Cheeni works because it feels alive. The old site did not carry that feeling and it made key actions hard to find. The team needed something that reflected who they are while solving practical gaps.
Main challenges:
• Build a visual identity that feels rooted in comfort and culture
• Bring booking to the front with a clean and simple flow
• Create an event system that the team can update with zero friction
• Improve structure and clarity across all pages
• Prioritize mobile usability and fast load times
This was more than a redesign. It was about translating atmosphere into an experience.
The Solution. Clear Structure and Honest Design
I rebuilt the site around clarity and tone. Every section was designed to feel calm, grounded, and intuitive. Large imagery brings visitors into the space. Layouts are simple and direct. The copy feels human. The navigation is clean.
The site now meets two goals at once. It reflects the heart of Cheeni while giving customers a smooth and functional experience.
Key Actions. Resy, Events, and Visual Direction
I delivered three major improvements that changed how the site works day to day.
Resy Integration
A custom embed makes booking effortless. Users can reserve a table in seconds without leaving the site. The button is clear and centered which improves conversions.
Event CMS System
I created a full CMS for events that allows the team to add new programs at any time. Each event includes a title, summary, date, image, and optional details. This gives Cheeni room to grow without extra design costs.
Visual Direction
The visual language is built on deep greens, soft shadows, and warm photography that mirrors the interior. Nothing feels forced or heavy. It feels like Cheeni.
Design Process. Research to Final Build
• Site audit and content review
• Visit to the space to understand tone and atmosphere
• User flow mapping for booking and event discovery
• Wireframes for mobile, tablet, and desktop
• Visual direction and component design
• Full development in Framer
• Resy and CMS integration
• QA testing and refinements
This process kept the work grounded in real needs rather than assumptions.
The Outcome. A Site That Feels Like Cheeni
The final result is a warm, functional, and scalable site that finally matches the experience of the cafe. Visitors can explore events, book instantly, and get a sense of the space before they arrive. The CMS saves the team time and gives them control over their programming.
The redesign does more than inform. It invites. It reflects the soul of the cafe and supports the community that gathers there.
