The Challenge: Designing for Simplicity, Trust, and Access
Syntaro Language Services needed a website that would support a wide range of clients—from NHS Trusts and local councils to legal aid firms and refugee services. The site had to look professional yet warm, reflect fairness in the industry, and be simple enough for non-digital natives.
Key Problems
No existing platform to communicate their services, ethos, or booking process
Clients relied on slow manual referrals, emails, and third-party platforms
Older or non-technical users found current competitors difficult to navigate
Client Insight
"We want to feel international, ethical, and human. Something that reflects our values and is simple to use."
The Solution: An Ethical, Sector-Focused Website
The new site clearly communicates the brand’s values, service offerings, and booking process with a strong visual hierarchy and welcoming tone. Designed to work equally well on desktop and mobile, the experience is intuitive without feeling generic.
Key Features
Clear Information Architecture – Pages are structured around key client needs: services, trust, about, and contact.
Human-First Messaging – No bots, no jargon—just professional interpreters and real cultural understanding.
Streamlined Booking – A non-real-time form helps clients request interpretation with minimal friction.
Trust Signals – Social proof, GDPR compliance, and sector alignment build immediate credibility.
Mobile Optimised Design – Lightweight, responsive layout prioritises usability across all devices.
Design Process: Scaled for Budget, Built for Impact
To align with the client’s limited resources, the design process focused on high-impact decisions. I worked collaboratively with the client to prioritise clarity and ease of use, refining messaging and layout across multiple low-fidelity and high-fidelity iterations.
Discovery & Direction
Reviewed 5+ competitor sites including Translate UK and One Stop Language Solutions
Conducted stakeholder interviews to identify core differentiators and tone
Defined visual direction based on a globally inclusive, editorial-inspired feel
Wireframing & Iteration
Created lo-fi wireframes to establish structure and hierarchy
Built responsive high-fidelity mockups in Figma
Integrated client feedback across 3 review cycles
Build & Handoff
Developed site in Framer for easy future edits
Delivered documentation on domain setup, maintenance, and CMS use
Integrated DNS and custom email with GoDaddy for launch
The Outcome: A Platform That Reflects Their Mission
The final website positions Syntaro Language Services as a professional, principled interpretation service built on trust. Designed to work for busy caseworkers and institutions alike, it balances personality with precision.
Key Results:
Strong sector alignment with legal, medical, and NGO clients
Clear navigation that simplifies understanding of services
Messaging and layout tailored to support ethical positioning
Prepared for growth with scalable structure and CMS backend

Key Takeaways:
Trust begins with clarity. Design and copy must work together.
Lightweight sites can still be high-impact when built with purpose.
